Salt Study - Take II and III

Experimenting with different types of salt and applying variety of pressures to try to mimic a salt-etching procedure and to see te degree of texturing that occurs.

The rough texture comes from the coarse salt.

Salt Study - Take I

Using coarse sea-salt, I was interested in seeing whether the salt would dissolve or sink into the concrete. Instead, the concrete formed itself around it, except at the edges where it created a perforated condition.
